DP-119: Morning Light

 Order This Print

A shaft of sunlight reaches the understory of tropical vegetation in a botanical collection. Jungles need an intense level of solar energy for the photosynthesis that fuels the entire system. Yet less than one percent of the sunlight that beams down on the canopy touches the forest floor, where seedlings may wait years for an opportunity like a light gap created by a fallen tree before they can grow towards the sun.
