Internships
We offer opportunities for qualified students to gain hands-on experience working on projects in our gallery, in our studio and in the field.
GALLERY INTERN:
Through the internship offered through our gallery, interns work directly with the Gallery Manager on projects relating to fine print and merchandise sales. Ongoing projects include fulfilling customer orders, maintaining the gallery inventory and updating the client datadase. This internship does not include field work. We are looking for students with customer service or sales experience, great people skills, and the ability to work well as a team.
IMAGE COLLECTION INTERN:
Through the internship offered through our studio, interns work with other staff on projects in our image collection and archives. This internship does not include field work. The core responsibilities of this Intern can be tailored to meet the strengths of the applicant. We are looking for students with a good working knowledge of two or more of these core skills:
- iView Media Pro
- Adobe Creative Suite especially Photoshop
- Color retouching of RGB images
- Offloading and organizing digital shoots
- Captioning and Keywording
- Natural history especially Biology
- RAW workflow
FIELD ASSISTANT INTERN:
Through a new internship offered through our studio, interns work directly with Frans in the field providing technical assistance. We are looking for students with a good working knowledge of Nikon digital equipment and off-camera flash systems.
Internships are non-paid for a 4-month period. We look for applicants who can commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week. To be eligible, you must be enrolled at an accredited college, institute, or university. This internship does not include field work.
